Singapore

This wonderful city is a very disabled-friendly place to visit.  However whilst it does provide wheelchair accessible taxis, the easiest and by far cheapest way to get about is by using the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit).

This railway system covers most of Singapore; it is spotlessly clean and runs regular services.

Ticket machines are very user-friendly in many languages but you do need the exact money as no change will be given. Simply touch your destination on the map, indicate how many tickets you require, single or return, and the total sum payable is given. Slide in banknotes or coins.

Popular destinations are the Botanical Gardens, Raffles, Marina Bay, Orchard Road for shopping, and Sentosa Island which is a wonderful place to sightsee or simply stroll along the beaches.
